Plus size fashion blog xoxonettaP and personal image agency Honor You will host the fifth NYC Plus Size Clothing Swap on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00PM - 8:30PM at Katra Lounge, 217 Bowery St., NY, NY. Participants are asked to bring gently used, clean plus size clothing (above a size 10) and shoes, and then they will be able to leave with “new to you” items brought by other participants. The remaining clothing and shoes will be donated to Women in Need. Tickets to the event are $10, and they are available on EventBrite. Don’t forget to hashtag all of your tweets and Instagram photos #NYCPlusSizeSwap!
This is the fifth Plus Size Clothing Swap that xoxonettaP has hosted in New York City, and she is excited to bring on new partners and sponsors as the event continues to expand. The focus of the event is to provide women who wear clothing above a size 10 a comfortable place to swap clothes and shoes with other women. All swapped items will be sorted upon arrival. Interested participants are asked to bring their bag(s) of clothing and shoes the evening of the event. Examples of items to swap include:
- Blazers
- Tops and blouses
- Dresses
- Tunics
- Pants and slacks
- Jackets
- Skirts
- Shoes, sandals, heels & boots
- Sweaters
This time around, the Plus Size Clothing Swap is excited to announce their partnership with Madison Plus, the premier plus size fashion website with hand-curated plus size looks, who has signed on to provide donations for the swap from their showroom.
The NYC Plus Size Clothing Swap has also partnered with Pop Up Plus, a plus size pop up store that sells on-trend designer clothing for sizes 14 and up. Pop Up Plus will be selling some items on site. Eddy & Bri, the newest premier shopping destination for curvy fashionistas, will be offering discounted items for sale, donating a portion of the proceeds to Women in Need. Bella Creations will be selling jewelry during the event, as well.
We have partnered with food blogger and plus size fashion designer Eryn Stutts from Dimestore Diamond, a southern belle who has happily settled into Brooklyn. We will have a photographer on hand at the event from Shots by Carrie Lou to capture the event in photos. Don’t forget to have your photo taken and then upload it straight to Facebook and Google+ from the event!
The NYC Plus Size Clothing Swap is a fun and social event for women who want to easily swap their plus size clothing and shoes. If you’ve outgrown an item, never quite wore it like you thought you would, or if you’re looking for something in a bigger size, the NYC Plus Size Clothing Swap is a comfortable place to socialize with other curvy fashion lovers, while supporting a great cause. Leftover clothing and shoes will be donated to Women in Need. Revenue from the event will be used to hold additional swaps in the future.

Pleased Productions
Pleased Productions was born out of my desire to help women and men enjoy getting dressed. Whether they are getting ready for work, getting ready for a job interview, a party, or just ready to get their wardrobe updated for the season, I've always enjoyed helping people get dressed.
Being plus-size or curvy can be particularly challenging for women who want to look stylish and feel good about themselves and what they're wearing. That is why I chose to specialize in assisting plus-size and curvy women. I can help you shop your closet, simplify your life, and help you discover your own style. I've got a lifetime of experience dressing a plus-size and curvy body, and I understand the frustrations of shopping in a world that seems like it's only for those who wear a size 8 and under.
I started out helping women make choices during clothing swaps held in my home, and I was encouraged by all of my friends to pursue styling full time. They repeatedly told me that I had a knack for not only helping people make choices and finding their style, but that I also had a way of speaking to and understanding women and men. The intersection of helping people better their lives and seeing people look fantastic is what drives my business.
